Inside Stephanie's Chic Studio
As many of you know, tomorrow I start my interior design class. And what better way to kick things off, but post my first entry on an entire living space. Today's post is dedicated to Stephanie Straka and her amazingly chic studio.
Maybe it's because I'm a snob, or maybe just because I've never lived alone, but I have always been a little "eh" when it comes to studios, simply because the idea of having a living/sleeping space leaves for limited decorating ideas. I did, however, live most of my childhood in my own little version of a studio (i.e. putting a futon in my room at my parents house and trying to pass it off as an apartment). But I must say, visiting Stephanie's makes me want a studio of my own. She has really made her space look spacious, almost like a one bedroom apartment.
I love how she has integrated the rugs with her bedspread, and really made an effort to tie in a common theme to the entire space. Additionally, she chose a miniature couch and coffee table that match perfectly with her bedroom accessories: her lamp, stools, and wall art.
One of Stephanie's favorite things about her decor is her ruffled throw pillow. She feels (and I agree) that this splurge was definitely worth it. It was the first thing I noticed, and complimented, about her space. It actually made me question my discount Ross pillows, and now I am feeling that some couch accessories may be worth the investment!
As a hard working law student, Stephanie needed a study space. Surprisingly, she has been able to get away with turning her cozy dining room into a pseudo-office (see the oh-so-clean desk in the background). The best part about Stephanie's studio: it's a few blocks away from me, so I can visit any time!
