Before and After: Sidewalk Kitchen Cart to Entry Table

A recurring problem at my apartment is cluttering the dining table by throwing keys, purses, and mail when arriving at home. An obvious solution to this problem is, of course, an entry table. However, being the savvy (and cheap) person that I am, I was not going to invest half my paycheck into something I knew I would easily find on a street corner.

And to my excitement, there it was: an old kitchen cart sitting next to a dumpster. And thankfully it was fully equipped with wheels on the legs for an easy (yet embarrassing) walk home.

After cleaning off the bird droppings, I was inspired to go out and buy some aqua paint. Aqua, being one of my favorite colors, is not always something you want to put on your walls or paint your furniture with, so it's always good for accents. In this case, I decided not to paint the front drawer to add a little bit of contrast. Now I have plenty of room for my keys, mail, and purse. Plus, my foyer has a little more personality :)
