Third Time's a Charm!

We go through life trying to find ourselves, and when we do, we spend the remainder of our time doing things to contribute the image of who we think we are. For me, I feel like I have already identified myself in the following ways: creative and artistic, passionate, and adventurous. One thing I haven't found, however, is my ideal theme for my living space. You may have noticed the lack of images of my apartment. That's because, well, I've never really felt that I'm "done" decorating and changing it.


Since moving to my new San Francisco apartment in July, I have painted my living room twice, in an attempt to create a space that I am truly proud of. I swear, the purpose of this is not to test my husband's patience, because believe me, making your hubby repaint your living room every weekend will do just that! But I think I have FINALLY found the perfect color and the perfect theme for my living room. After watching the Sex and the City Movie for the forth time this weekend, I found myself taking note of Carrie's newly redecorated apartment. You know, after she came back from Mexico after her breakup with Big? Anyway, the photos below have become my inspiration for the new paint color.

Of course, the first thing that caught my eye is the bright Electric Blue walls by Benjamin Moore. The best part about Benjamin Moore paint is that you can go to their website and upload a photo of your living space and see what it looks like with different colors.
I have also always been a fan of different colored closets. I am eventually going to probably paint my closet some kind of crazy color, like hot orange, but I will save that for another post.

I will leave you with this image for now, as it is probably my favorite picture of Carrie's apartment since I just can't get enough of mirrored furniture. It really brings out the glamour in a space, particularly one with bright colored walls! Hopefully third time's a charm, and I am satisfied with the end result of my third coat of paint in five months. If so, you might be lucky enough to see pictures of it!
